About
“And hold fast altogether to the rope of Allah and do not be divided. And remember the favour of Allah upon you, in that you were once enemies to one another, but He joined your hearts together, so that by His Grace you became brothers.” [Soorah Aali-’Imraan 3:103]
Faithworks Forever : Islam
Born into a Muslim family I have always known about the basic principles of Islam. However, I grew up without really building on my knowledge of Islam. It’s not that I didn’t care. I just wasn’t motivated and exposed to Islamic knowledge, for the most part because there were not many Muslims where I lived.
However, two experiences have truly made me a better person and more interested in Islam:
1) Last year my family and I performed Um’rah for the first time in our lives. This amazing experience motivated me to take a deeper look into Islam.
2) College. I’ve surrounded myself with many amazing people from the MSA (Muslim Student’s Association) at my University and I’m learning so much about Islam that I’m deeply moved. I love it’s simplicity and beauty. I want to let the world in on what I’ve learned and what I am learning from here on out; this blog represents my own reflections, knowledge I’ve gained, and perspectives.
So please stay tuned.

P.S:
A NOTE TO MY BLOG READERS:
First, thanks for visiting my site and reading up to this line. =D
In a brief one sentence summary, this blog is like a Journal for me to write my thoughts, about Islam and what I have learned. I will not include excerpts of a day in my life (ex. what I had for dinner last night), irrelevant links to my favorite bookmarks, my political thoughts, my video gaming hobbies, a list of my favorite books, etc. Also, I am in no means a scholar in my religion, so please do your own research on what I post and let me know if something is not right.
And finally, I know we all listen to the News. We always hear: “Islam is this..”, “Islam is that” blah, blah, blah…I have two words to address that issue: Misunderstandings and Misconceptions. I am not going to talk about the News at all, debate any arguments or talk about politics in this blog. If you are looking for that, please go elsewhere.
I am a student that is looking forward to getting my degree, having a sucessful career in the future, and most importantly building on my Islamic knowledge so I can be a better person. I respect all faiths. I have a diverse group of friends from many different backgrounds and religions. Though I will not directly reference any misconceptions about Islam and prove a point, I hope that this blog will indirectly shed some light, and show some of the true characteristics of Islam: peace, happiness, hope, and love for all mankind.
—————————————–
> Islam is more than a religion, it is a way of life.
> There are no preachers in Islam. It is there for you to chose to take. Learn for yourself. You’ll be amazed.
> We are all born. Every single one of us, as Muslims (yes, even you who may be reading this and don’t know anything about Islam). Why aren’t we all practicing Islam then? Because we all chose our own paths. But Islam is it. It is the only true path.
> What is a Muslim? One who submits him/herself to the will of Allah (aka God).
> Why Islam? Seek it’s beauty and you’ll see the world a whole new way.
> Remember, all of mankind is the creation of Allah (swt). If he so wills, we do not have to exist.
